NASA astronauts Bob Behnken, KE5GGX, and Doug Hurley will have to wait a few more days to see if the can make US space history, as human spaceflight is poised to return to the US for the first time in almost a decade. The nearly 46-year-old AO-7 amateur satellite made a remarkable contact possible on May 4 between Diego Feil, LW2DAF, in Buenos Aires, Argentina (GF05rk), and Tom Ambrose, ZS1TA, in Cape Town, South Africa (JF95fx). La IARU ha ritenuto opportuno non patrocinare per il 2020 lo svolgimento del Contest Field Day HF IARU Reg.1 nel rispetto dell'attuazione delle normative predisposte nei vari Paesi per fronteggiare l'epidemia globale COVID 19, recependo tali disposizioni pertanto I'A.R.I. non darà luogo all'edizione CW del contest in calendario per i giorni 6 e 7 giugno 2020.

Essendo la situazione in continua evoluzione ci riserviamo di comunicare se per l'edizione SSB, in calendario per i giorni 5 e 6 settembre 2020, il contest sarà svolto regolarmente oppure sarà annullato come per l'edizione CW.

Abbiamo provato a coordinarci con i manager degli altri country Regione 1 per svolgere ugualmente i contest in modalità singolo operatore  e con eventuali deroghe allo status di portatile ma  non siamo riusciti a trovare un punto di accordo con alcuni dei Paesi che hanno la partecipazione più consistente, pertanto abbiamo ritenuto non avesse senso partecipare ad un contest da soli.

No sunspots appeared last week. The previous seven days had only one big sunspot group on one day, with a sunspot number of 35. Over the seven-day period this averaged out to a sunspot number of 5, so average daily sunspot numbers declined from 5 to 0 this week.
