L'international Marconi Day al Museo Tecnico Navale

Decine di stazioni radio dislocate in tutto il mondo trasmetterano da siti storici legati alla vita dello scienziato bolognese.

Sabato 24 aprile il Museo Tecnico Navale della Spezia, in collaborazione con la locale sezione dell’ARI (Associazione Radioamatori Italiani), parteciperà alla 33^ edizione dell’International Marconi Day.

L’International Marconi Day è una manifestazione di portata internazionale, ideata dai radioamatori inglesi del “Cornish Amateur Radio Club” con sede in Cornovaglia, che intende ricordare annualmente la figura di Guglielmo Marconi nell’anniversario della sua nascita, avvenuta a Bologna il 25 aprile 1874.

Decine di stazioni radio dislocate in tutto il mondo, trasmetteranno da siti storici legati alla vita e all’attività scientifica dello scienziato bolognese.

Presso il Museo Tecnico Navale verrà allestita una stazione (fra le sette italiane partecipanti all’iniziativa) – gestita da radioamatori appartenenti alla locale sezione ARI ( - che intende rievocare e celebrare lo storico rapporto instauratosi tra Guglielmo Marconi, la Marina Militare e la città della Spezia.

Fu proprio un’area adiacente al Museo - insieme ad altri siti ubicati nel Golfo della Spezia – ad ospitare le prime prove di radiotelegrafia, che culminarono, il 17 luglio 1897, nel primo collegamento fra una stazione a terra e una unità navale, la Corazzata della Regia Marina San Martino.

Nel Museo, oltre a una vasta esposizione di cimeli marconiani, sono conservati gli apparati e i nastri originali (le cosiddette “zone telegrafiche”) riportanti la trascrizione, in alfabeto Morse, di quella prima storica trasmissione.
Le attività saranno svolte nel pieno rispetto delle normative anti-Covid in vigore.
