ARRL Foundation to Create Club Grants Program

A new ARRL Foundation Club Grants program, funded by a grant from Amateur Radio Digital Communications (ARDC), will make $500,000 available to radio clubs. The program will provide up to $25,000 for worthy club projects. Requests for more than that will be referred back to ARDC.

WRTC 2022 Award

Announcing a first time ever award, dedicated to the promotion of the organization of the WRTC 2022 – “World Radio Team Championship”.

Beginning on 1 January through 10 July 2022, over 100 Italian operators will activate the special WRTC callsigns, one for each Italian call area.

Special WRTC callsigns will be active also during some contests. The final activity will be during the IARU HF Contest 2022.

QSO totals and the award hunter’s scores will be displayed in real-time on wrtc2022.it/award.
Each hunter will be able to download the award in digital format at the end of the radio event.

Eight-Satellite TEVEL Mission to Launch on January 13

The TEVEL mission, which consists of eight satellites carrying amateur radio FM transponders, is set to launch on January 13 at 1525 UTC on the SpaceX Falcon 9 Transporter-3 mission, which also carries AMSAT-Spain’s (AMSAT-EA) EASAT-2 and HADES satellites. Former ARRL Virgin Islands Section Manager Ron Hall, KP2N, of St. Augustine, Florida, has died. An ARRL Life Member, he was 85. Hall served as Section Manager from 1988 until 1996. He later served as an Assistant Section Manager in 2002 before relocating to Florida. Licensed in the 1950s, he once worked for Heathkit. He was a member of the St. Petersburg Amateur Radio Club.
